Does receiving injectables hurt?
While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, many patients experience little to no discomfort during the procedure. Many people often associate receiving injectables to small pin-pricks or a bee-sting. Small gauge needles are used to minimize pain and overall the process is quick, however, topical numbing agents can be used to further minimize discomfort.
Can I get injectables while I’m pregnant and/or breastfeeding?
Unfortunately, we do not recommend pregnant and breastfeeding women receive injectables. It is always best to wait until you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding before you receive any type of medical cosmetic treatments.
Are injectables safe?
Injectables are highly safe as they are regulated and approved by the FDA. While safety has been proven, they are still considered a medical treatment and do carry some risks. You should always talk with your qualified healthcare provider to discuss these risks and see if injectables are the right treatment for you.
Will I still look like ‘me’ after receiving injectables?
Of course! It is important to make sure you seek treatment from a reputable establishment and by a practitioner who has extensive training in cosmetic injectables. Many practitioners favor a natural look. A qualified practitioner will know how many units to achieve optimal results, and when done correctly, will yield beautiful, natural, subtle results.
What’s the best age to start receiving injectables?
There is no best age! It’s whenever you’re comfortable! Many people who do not already have etched in lines will see best results from injectables. Injectables act in a way to temporarily paralyze the facial muscle contractions that create wrinkles. If wrinkles have not become “etched in,” or static, then it will no longer be visible while the neurotoxin is effective. More and more younger patients are opting to receive injectables to prevent wrinkles, however, older clients often seek injectables to soften their wrinkles to enhance a youthful appearance.
How long until I see results?
Depending on which injectable is used, you should expect to see results within 3-10 days of treatment, with full results occurring around day 14.
How long will results last?
Again, every person is different and will experience different results. The average patient should expect to see results for approximately 3-4 months.
How will I know which injectable is good for me?
Your cosmetic practitioner will conduct a thorough evaluation prior to receiving services and will be able to determine which injectable – Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin – will be appropriate for your particular needs and desired results.
What are the side effects of injectables? Is there any downtime?
Most common side effects include redness, mild itching, and small bruising at the injection site. There is little to no downtime with injectable procedures, in fact, many people will receive treatment during their lunch break!
